Senior safety engineer – Curitiba/PR

Responsabilidades
- Coordinate and provide functional guidance to Health & Safety professionals across multiple countries (Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Chile, and Mexico), ensuring alignment with corporate standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Influence regional HSE teams, coordinating activities across different business units and geographies without direct reporting lines.
- Drive harmonization of safety processes, tools, and performance metrics across Latin America.
- Act as the regional focal point for HSE, interfacing with global stakeholders and ensuring consistent deployment of corporate initiatives.
- Apply Lean principles through the Volvo Performance System (VPS) to drive continuous improvement in Health & Safety processes, systems, and performance.
- Conduct frequent travel across Latin America (Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Chile, and Mexico) to perform HSE audits, site assessments, and ensure compliance with corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as a subject matter expert in safety engineering, providing guidance to leadership and cross-functional teams.
Requisitos
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Production, Environmental, Mechanical or related field).
- Postgraduate studies or certifications in Occupational Health & Safety Engineering.
- Relevant experience in Health & Safety Engineering, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments and especially in multinational companies.
- Experience with Lean methodologies and continuous improvement frameworks.
- Availability and willingness to travel frequently across Latin America.
- Experience in risk assessment methodologies, incident investigation and audits.
- Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) is mandatory.
- Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and coaching capabilities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management.
- Continuous improvement mindset (Lean / Six Sigma is a plus).
- High level of ownership and accountability.
- Ability to work independently in a complex environment.
