Responsabilities
- Sampling & analysis coordination: plan, schedule, and execute soil, rock, water, and pore-water sampling across multiple sites.
- Method development: design and refine protocols to measure silicate weathering rates and carbon fluxes.
- Field trials: set up and oversee mesocosm and in-field experiments; iterate quickly to test new approaches.
- Data interpretation: collaborate with scientists to analyse results and feed insights back into operations.
- Networking: build relationships with Brazilian universities, labs, and regulators to accelerate ERW adoption.
- Additional Responsibilities Will Include
- Maintaining detailed SOPs and ensuring QA/QC on all samples.
- Training field technicians on best-practice sampling methods.
- Contributing to publications, grant proposals, and conference presentations.
Requirements
- Desired Knowledge And Experience
- PhD in Geochemistry, Soil Science, Agronomy, Environmental Science, Geology, or related field.
- Deep understanding of inorganic & organic soil carbon cycling and silicate dissolution kinetics.
- Hands-on experience with soil/rock/water sampling and analysis.
- Track record in designing and running field or mesocosm trials.
- Portuguese & English fluency; Spanish a plus.
- Willingness to travel across rural Goiás.
- Preferred Skills
- Geochemical modelling with PHREEQC or GWB.
- Familiarity with carbon markets or MRV standards.
- Strong scientific network in ERW-related disciplines.
