Responsabilidades
- Ensure product quality while upholding company standards and procedures.
- Comply with all GLP, GMP, Safety, and Environmental regulations, in addition to corporate policies.
- Coordinate overall laboratory activities, including the creation and maintenance of lab procedures.
- Develop, validate, and implement analytical methodologies and procedures.
- Lead and manage a team working across shifts and administrative hours, ensuring high levels of motivation, quality, and productivity.
- Prepare the annual budget and monitor/control monthly budget performance (OPEX and CAPEX).
- Support customer complaint investigations through data analysis and report preparation.
- Align laboratory activities with Production and Technology teams.
- Implement and maintain the LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) and oversee document control programs and procedures.
- Perform critical analysis of all laboratory-released data and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate and approve the use of external laboratories, including critical review of issued reports.
- Implement raw material and ingredient control programs, including incoming inspections.
- Manage chemical reagents in compliance with federal/civil police and military regulations.
- Plan laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance in collaboration with the Plant Maintenance team.
- Maintain 5S/housekeeping practices to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Interface with other company laboratories in Brazil and globally.
- Provide support for company-wide projects as required.
- Investigate all Out-of-Specification (OOS) results and lead appropriate actions.
- Participate in EHS activities, including accident investigations and hazard identification, as well as HACCP programs.
- Manage the issuance of Certificates of Analysis (CoA) and product release processes.
- Lead corrective and preventive actions arising from internal or external audits.
- Stop operations immediately and notify leadership in the event of anomalies or high-risk situations.
- Identify and respond promptly to adverse conditions with appropriate corrective measures.
- Attend meetings as required and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Foster teamwork and a culture of mutual respect.
- Coordinate and apply risk management principles across projects.
- Provide Quality Risk Analysis to support LT and Local Gate decisions.
- Evaluate and validate the quality impact of new or modified equipment.
- Conduct capability analysis of new raw materials and packaging components.
- Define and implement quality control plans for new suppliers and materials.
- Establish quality control plans for incoming, in-process, and finished products during plant trials, commissioning, and monitoring periods.
- Develop and oversee launch validation plans, ensuring execution until factory sign-off.
- Train company´s factory and/or third-party manufacturers (3PMs) in quality procedures, including sampling and analytical methods.
- Lead quality processes in early phase management and validation of innovation, VIP, and technology projects.
Requisitos
- Experience in Quality Laboratory Coordination, including People Leadership and Budget Management, with strong command of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Experience in the Chemical, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical industries, or accredited External Service Laboratories is preferred.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in Microbiology, Physicochemical Analyses, and advanced instrumental techniques such as High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC), along with a solid understanding of Food/Feed Safety and Environmental Standards.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or Pharmaceutical Sciences (mandatory). A postgraduate degree (MBA, MSc, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Languages: Fluency in English (speaking, listening, and writing) is required.
